Cubes is a co-creation project between Tatcraft and raumvonwert, a Frankfurt based (interior) architecture / design firm. Born out of necessity the project advanced to a full throttle multiple months conception, R&D and Product Design Project that we’re proud of.

Even in times of New Work and collaborative, team based work methods high-concentration phases remain absolutely necessary. Unfortunately these aren’t easy to come by in high-fluctuation workspaces. When it comes to flexible office solutions one has basically two choices, the odd container (even if good looking options exist) or the fancy glass box, that always looks like interior taken out of a bank. Both solutions are in most cases not at all sustainable (even if container recycling counts). Our Cubes are designed to be the alternative draft to the above mentioned choices. Except for a power cable they are completely self-sustaining, properly ventilated (heating and a/c), soundproof and offer a cocoonesque working conditions for 2 (up to 7 in conference setting). Best thing is, that the Cubes offer the same workspace attributes that normally belong to much larger offices - a whiteboard & projection surface, a library-like bookshelf and a pinboard wall.

New Work Ready & Environmentally sound Tech / Product Design
Very close to the tiny house mindset our Cubes need to fulfill the needs of modern “New Work” office environments and the demand for ecologically sound office solutions. The Cube project delivers on both ends. Users find the same workspace attributes that normally belong to much larger offices - a whiteboard & projection surface, a library-like bookshelf and a pinboard wall & may enjoy an office environment that is basically compostable.
Office Autarchy
Except for a power cable they are completely self-sustaining, properly ventilated (heating and a/c), soundproof and offer a cocoonesque working conditions for 2 (up to 7 in conference setting). This layout makes Cubes the perfect solution for large rooms, factory settings and co-working type spaces. If users require more space, cubes are modular. Through a coupling system any amount of Cubes can be linked.
Variability of Layouts
The present layout provides two general office layouts. The office layout offers cocoonesque working conditions for 2 (including the anameties of normally much larger office setups), the conference setting offers meeting-room space for up to 7 people. Due to clever design, Cubes can be transformed into much more use cases - in and outdoor offices, hotel rooms for festivals or indoor / outdoor greenhouses are viable use-cases.
